WAO-USA's Generous Help for Fire Victims

ARAKANLAND

WAO-USA-11/20/2011- An emergency meeting of World Arakanese Organization (WAO) U.S.A. Branch successfully held by its 11 attendees of Central Executive Committee. The purpose agenda of teleconference had discussed about how to assist an Arakanese fire victims from Mum Pra and Mre Pone Township, Arakan.

During the three weeks of November, the fire broke out across the Arakan.  On November 1, 2011, 112 houses bunt down in Kyouk Ni Maw Village, Ram Bray Township. Mum Pra market was consumed by fire. There was at least 685 shops  out of over 1000 shops ( three line of five long building) burnt down  by fire on November 12, 2011 according to the recent information from Ven. U Nya Na, one of the famous monks of Arakan. In Mrauk U, 3 houses and 4 Video houses were destroyed by fire on November 17, 2011.  And 2 houses were fired in Taman Tha Village in Moung Taw Township on November 18, 2011. A fire consumed the 146 houses in Sittara Village in Mre Pone Township on November 19, 2011.

As the first step of donation, WAO-USA approved to offer $2500, which allocated from WAO-USA’s emergency relief fund, for Arakanese fire victims. And WAO-USA’s members have planned to get donation as fundraising from sympathizers who live in USA.
